GM (up 18%), Ford (up 11.2%), Hyundai (up 9.1%) and Chrysler (31%) all recorded strong growth. While Toyota was down 12.7% and Honda was down 24.6% over the same period in 2010.
Despite the slump, the Toyota Camry remained the top-selling car in August, with more than 30,000 cars reaching customers.
