According to a recent Piston Heads report, the upcoming Ferrari 458 Spider will be coming with a folding hard-top roof.
It seems Ferrari has solved problems related to a folding hard-top roof for the 458 - whereas the F430 Spider did not make use of a folding hard-top because it was believed to be too heavy and complex.
The transparent engine cover of the coupe has been dropped, although the 4.5-litre V8 beneath it remains thankfully unchanged.
Besides, the report can't say whether the roof will be made of metal or glass or how exactly it is configured for opening.

Expected, the 458 Spider will public debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn.
