Toyota has officially unveiled the 2012 Hilux facelift for the European market.
The cosmetic surgery starts with the exterior, the model features a new front fascia, new bonnet, a revised grille and restyled headlights. Interior changes are limited, but Toyota restyled the upper part of the dashboard, new instrument cluster, revised trim and an updated 6.1-inch touchscreen display.
The 3.0-liter D-4D carries over - with a new diesel particulate filter (DPF) - but the big news is an upgraded 2.5-liter D-4D with 144 hp at 3,600 rpm and 343 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. Althought boasting an additional 24 hp, but the engine has a reduced fuel consumption of 7.3-liter/100 km and CO2 emissions of 193 g/km.
Aside from the two diesel engines, European customers also have a choice of three body styles, manual gearbox and automatic transmissions and 2- or 4-wheel drive system.
