According to What Car, Kia will introduce rear-wheel drive sports coupe at the upcoming Frankfurt and Detroit Auto Shows.
The British magazine says the concepts will be based on the K9 sedan and equipped by a V8 engine. If the car are warmly received, Kia could eventually offer a production model into the market as early as 2015.
In related news, Kia is also mulling a smaller car to compete with rivals such as the VW Scirocco, the Mazda MX-5 and Renault Megane Coupe. However, the model could be front-wheel drive and be based on the next-generation Cee'd.
