We for you the first spy shots of the 2013 Porsche Cayman at the Nurburgring-Nordschleife in Germany.

The model is heavily camouflaged, but you can see the model will have an evolutionary design that is instantly recognizable. As with the current model, the new Cayman will essentially be a hard-top version of the Boxster, sources have indicated the Boxster and Cayman will be distinguished by unique lighting units and a steeper windscreen. Additionally, the redesigned Cayman also appears to have a lower rear profile, a new side air intake and a much larger rear window.

Engine options are still shrouded in mystery, but previous reports have indicated the car will be equipped by a 2.9-liter engine with 265 hp and 280 Nm or a 3.4-liter engine with 315 hp and 360 Nm of torque. While the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is also expected, and it may eventually replace the 2.9-liter flat-six.

No word on when the model will be introduced, we’ll have to wait until its expected arrival in the second half of next year to find out.
